Sexual Betrayal Recovery

Betrayal is an emotional violation of trust.
Any relationship, based on an agreement between two individuals who are romantically involved, can be a traumatic experience for the individual who is betrayed.
Such betrayal can occur for many reasons. Sometimes, it involves an affair or someone who is supposed to be “just a friend.” Unfortunately, that friend may be sexually involved with the partner, so it is more than just hugging and kissing. Betrayal also may involve secretly watching porn online or being involved in live porn sites or chat rooms.
Betrayal can also make it difficult for the recipient to process the emotions they feel. It can lead to a lack of emotional control or trust, which can affect the likelihood of avoiding future relationships. When the betrayer tries to cast blame on the betrayed, it can create self-doubt.
Dealing with sexual betrayal is not easy, especially when you are trying to navigate it alone. Therapy can make a difference during these times of emotional uncertainty.
Gain clarity and rebuild trust in yourself and others.
In coaching, we will address the emotional abuse that often accompanies betrayal, including blame-shifting, minimization, cruel comparisons, and accusations like, “You made me do it.”
Triage methods for shock will help stabilize your nervous system and provide the “next right choice” support. You will regain truth and trust with our safety and transparency plans.
There’s an overlap between relational deception vs. narcissism, but they aren’t identical. We will treat your injuries and help you heal because we are powerless to change anyone except us.
In addition, you will learn to set sexual betrayal boundaries regarding devices, money, intimacy, and timelines. There’s dignity in the restoration process as you learn to live with the reality of your experience and build self-trust, creating morals and values aligned with your decisions.

Coaching can help you recover from the betrayal.
Dealing with sexual betrayal is a traumatic experience, and through coaching, you can gain the insight to understand that it was not your fault. As a result, you can learn methods to help you get past the emotional upheaval you feel, allowing you to regain a sense of trust in yourself.
While working with clients dealing with sexual betrayal, I offer both one-on-one and group sessions, which can be powerful in that you will gain insight from others dealing with the same problems.
