Narcissistic Abuse Recovery

Something has happened to the relationship.

Initially, your partner gave you an abundance of positive attention. They poured affection and praise on you, and life felt perfect.

Then, things started to change. Sometimes, they would avoid talking to you, as if you did something wrong. At other times, their accusations would make you feel guilty, while having no idea what you did.

Perhaps your partner makes you feel fearful as they bombard you with insults. It’s as if you’re in a cycle of being praised, manipulated, insulted, and threatened.

As a result, you may begin to doubt yourself and wonder, “Is there something wrong with me? Am I too sensitive? Is this why they are responding in this way?”

You’re not “too sensitive.” You’re injured.

These are all signs of narcissistic abuse that involve praise, manipulation, accusations, and a striving for control of your body and soul.

Without help, the continued association with a narcissist can impact you emotionally and physically, even if you eventually leave them.

This is why it’s essential to recognize the early warning signs and seek help before the situation escalates.

Coaching can make a difference.

Working together, we will untangle the cycle of love-bombing, devaluing, discarding, and hoovering. In addition, we will identify the signs of emotional abuse that fuel it: gaslighting, shame, intimidation, silent treatment, and public/private humiliation.

You’ll learn to spot the tactics used by a narcissist, such as gaslighting, DARVO, smear campaigns, hot–cold attention, and contempt. We will work on developing emotional safety by nervous system regulation, identifying emotions and where they live in your body, and creating a safe strategy to relate to the narcissistic person in your life.

Safety requires you to be regulated, not dysregulated. In addition, you will learn how to tell the difference between codependency vs. fawning and set boundaries that are loving and enforceable. To reverse the effects of induced trauma, we will work to help you identify triggers, create safe relational rules, and provide relapse prevention for you.

You might wonder, “Am I the narcissist?” Coaching can also help you gain clarity to end the shame spiral.

Recovery from a narcissistic relationship is possible.
